The Boise Spine Center welcomes those who want to improve their performance in a particular sport. The chiropractic physicians at the Boise Spine Center work with an athletic trainer affiliated with Boise Health and Performance located in the same building to optimize strength, power, endurance, and optimal biomechanics for peak performance. One of the methods utilized at the Boise Spine Center is SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) which is developed by the Titleist Performance Institute. This method is a great way to assess body movements to find out where limitations/poor movement patterns occur that might lead to pain or hinder optimum performance. Corrective exercises and chiropractic treatments are then given to help improve movement patterns.
While healing remains an inexact science, we believe in practicing according to evidence-based guidelines. Conservative management approaches that use a combination of exercise therapy, soft tissue treatment, and spinal manipulation have been demonstrated to be effective means of treating back and neck pain and have been shown to help people avoid surgery, even if they were already considered surgical candidates. Because of our comprehensive treatment approach, including the highly acclaimed soft tissue treatment called Active Release Technique, the physicians at Boise Spine Center are qualified to treat all musculoskeletal injuries, including the extremities.
